Trout is rich in essential nutrients like vitamin B12, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids, crucial for supporting baby's brain development. Additionally, it provides vitamin D, vital for healthy bones and cells, and selenium to boost the immune system. These nutrients play a vital role in a baby's well-being and are not easily found in other foods.

Potatoes provide essential nutrients such as folate, iron, vitamin B6, and zinc, which are essential for growing babies. Potatoes are also rich in other B vitamins, vitamin C to boost the immune system, and choline, a vital nutrient for brain development. Potatoes also contain "resistant starch," a significant type of fiber that helps promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, which supports a baby's body.

Tomatoes are a great source of vitamin C, which is beneficial when paired with plant-based iron-rich foods like lentils, beans, and peas as it helps in iron absorption. Additionally, tomatoes are rich in carotenoids, a group of plant nutrients with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that come in various varieties and offer distinct advantages such as promoting healthy eyesight, immunity, and heart function, as well as shielding the skin from sun damage.

Lettuce is a hydrating, low-calorie leafy green that provides a gentle introduction to vegetables for little ones. Rich in vitamin A, it supports healthy vision and skin, while its vitamin K content plays a key role in blood clotting and bone health. Lettuce also contains small amounts of folate, essential for cell growth and development, and fibre, which helps support digestion and regulate bowel movements. Its mild taste and soft texture (when cooked) make it an easy and nutritious addition to early-stage meals, helping babies develop a love for leafy greens from the start.
